Throughout his early years, Jim developed a passion for drawing by hand. So when it came time to start his career path, Northern Michigan University’s remarkable art program – along with the area’s opportunities for fishing, camping, hiking, snowboarding, and Jim’s other favorite outdoor activities – made it an obvious choice.

After Jim earned his BFA degree in Illustration, he saw that the field was moving to a more digital arena. Having never been too interested in working with design software before, Jim decided to take on the challenge of doing his creative work almost exclusively through programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. This dedication to developing a new skill set paid off as clients took note of Jim’s talent.
